IMPS III Scripting Control Module
The IMPS III Teach 'n' Repeat, or Scripting Control Module provides full control of the IMPS III software using a scripting interface. Macros, or scripts can be generated through all, or any of three methods:
- Using the Record button to record operator activities (other wise known as Teach 'n' Repeat);
- Using the inbuilt functions to add functions, step by step; and
- Manually entering instructions via the script editor window.
All IMPS III control modules provide a scripting interface, and it is relatively quick process to develop a script, for example to automaticall move the manipulator into an inspection position, to switch x-rays on, to acquire an image and save it to file.
IMPS III uses Microsoft's VBScript language, and has an embedded VBScript Engine. VBScripts can not only be used to control the IMPS software, but can also be used to access and control both the operating system and other applications. For example VBScripts running in IMPS can be used to automatically create and save content in Microsoft Word, or Excel files.
For those users who are not programmatically minded, Shaw Inspection Systems provide a service for generating inspection scripts
