Shaw Inspection Systems Recruiting Production and Engineering Specialists to Support Aggressive Expansion Programme

Shaw Inspection Systems, the Great Yarmouth, UK-based manufacturer of industrial x-ray inspection machines is looking to recruit a range of manufacturing and engineering roles. The company which was acquired by the $1.1 billion Canadian energy services company ShawCor Limited earlier this year, is looking to expand its workforce to support its aggressive plans for expansion in 2008.

The four new positions Shaw Inspection Systems is recruiting for a Manufacturing and Production Manager; a Commissioning Engineer; a Service Engineer and a Mechanical Fitter.

The Manufacturing and Production Manager will be responsible for procurement, sub-contract manufacture, and in house assembly of a wide range of mechanical fabrications, electrical panels, and control equipment. In addition to day to day management of Shaw Inspection System’s in-house workshops, the production manager will also implement processes and procedures to maximise the efficiency of workshop resources and improve materials management.

The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for the commissioning, testing, performance demonstrations and customer handover of x-ray products. The position will involve coordinating technical disciplines on a project specific basis and being the technical point of contact for both management and the customers.

The Service Engineer will be responsible for the after sales service, routine maintenance, breakdown support and repair response of x-ray inspection systems sold to customers. The Mechanical Fitter will be responsible for precision assembly and small part manufacture for x-ray equipment both in-house and at on-site installations.
