Service Engineer
Reporting to the Projects Manager.
Qualifications
HND / HNC in an engineering subject
Experience
A minimum of three years general experience in service and maintenance of x-ray equipment, general industrial machinery and micro processor control systems.
Summary
Responsible for the after sales service, routine maintenance, breakdown support and repair response of all SIS supplied X-ray product.
The position requires constant liaison with customers, measurement of corrective actions for existing products and an active input into product development for obsolescence upgrades and effective preventative actions.
Background
Shaw Inspection Systems Ltd a £3M turnover company based in Great Yarmouth specialising in the design and manufacture of Digital X-Ray imaging equipment and systems for industry. Our products are used primarily for Non Destructive Testing of industrial components covering a wide range of applications including Aerospace, Aeronautical, Automotive, Military, Nuclear, Petro-chemical and Pharmaceutical.
SIS produce a wide and varied range of products, usually customised to suit customers requirements. Items tend to be produced as singles or in small batch quantities and close control of manufacturing activities is required to ensure manufacture and procurement is completed on schedule ready for in house assembly and testing.
Responsibilities
- Routine service work and repairs to SIS products at customer work sites in all locations from the UK to offshore and overseas.
- Providing customer training in equipment preventative maintenance routines, fault finding and routine operation.
- Customer contact point for routine maintenance work, reported equipment failures and spares or repairs.
- Compiling quotations, scheduling and management reporting of all after sales service work, spare parts, equipment faults and repairs.
- Upkeep and maintenance of stock x-ray equipment, demonstration systems and spare parts.
- Upkeep, maintenance and PAT testing of factory test equipment, power and machine tools.
Key Skills
- A minimum of three years general experience in service and maintenance of x-ray equipment, general industrial machinery and micro processor control systems.
- Good background knowledge of electrical and mechanical engineering practice.
- Good general knowledge of associated QA and Safety management procedures.
